As our engagement with former residents got under way and the Innerbelt Neighborhood Stories Project took shape, it became clear that for many former residents and their descendants, there is a lot of unprocessed grief connected with trauma and legacy of what happened. For others, engaging with the grief in these stories can also be difficult. “A Primer of Grief” is a 3-part conversation between project lead and spatial justice activist Liz Ogbu, Innerbelt Neighborhood Stories Project curator and storytelling consultant Roger Riddle, and former resident and grief recovery specialist Bishop Joey Johnson. It’s intended to be a resource to support engaging with and processing the grief.
