We’re excited that you want to get involved in this process. There are several ways to participate.
If you haven’t done so already, please sign up for our mailing list as that’s the best way to keep abreast of the latest opportunities, events, and progress.
In 2023, we launched the Innerbelt History Collection on the Summit Memory website in collaboration with the Akron-Summit County Public Library. The collection is an archival effort to make sure that the stories and images of what happened (and the life of the neighborhood that used to exist) can be preserved for future generations to know and learn from.
For former residents of the Innerbelt area, we would love to have your share any stories via oral history interviews and photos of the old neighborhood that we can scan. Let us know if you’re interested in sharing your story.
To all Akron residents, we’d love to engage you in conversation at one of our pop-up stations. Browse our calendar of upcoming events or join our mailing list for updates.
While we’re only able to do the pop-up stations at a select number of events, we’re open to hearing of other events where information about this initiative can be distributed. We’re also open to hearing programming ideas for interim activation on the Innerbelt. Let us know if you have thoughts.
